Relocating to Houston

What are some good areas to live in that aren't terribly expensive. We are hoping for outskirts of Houston with a moderate cost of living so that I can finish school without working. Thanks in advance!!!

West of Houston is nice. Housing is reasonable and the school system is great in Katy.

i moved from new orleans i lived in the galleria area of houston, it's great alots of shops and stuff to do and GREAT SCHOOLS for the kids..hope this helps and welcome to houston

which school are you attending? if you are going to be near the med center... pearland is only a skip and a hop.
