Hi all,
Is there anyone here starting at Prairie View this Spring or currently attending? I got my acceptance letter about 2 weeks ago....I am so excited...and nervous! Can any PV students give advice on what to expect?

Thanks

Default Attending Orientation
Hi,
Congratulations to you! I also got accepted and will be attending the orientation on the 4th. Same thing here, I was looking for advice from PVAMU students. Hopefully, they will come out of the woodworks. I am both excited and apprehensive because it will be the start of hard work! Good luck to you and maybe I'll see you at the orientation.

Hi Mzam,
I am sooo glad someone finally responded...I was beginning to think no one at PV knew about this site! I will be at orientation on Tuesday , so I will see you there!

PS Is it me or does it seem like time has flown by since you got your acceptance letter?

Congrats into getting into nursing school. Nice to see someone finally mention PV for a change. I am interested in the program but when I went to their website they didn't have any information on the admission procress, prereqs, etc... I was wondering if someone could give me some information. Thanks

I am at Prairie Views Main Campus right now completing my prereqs. I will be applying to PV's Nursing School for Fall 2005. Can you all give me any advice on what things I can do this summer to prepare myself for the first semester. Thanks.

Sorry for taking so long to respond...school has been busy. Anyway, you can go to the PV admissions website and get the requirements. You can also call 7/797-7000 and they can tell you the dates for the informationals. They will give you all the information on prereqs and such. There is not an abundance of info on PV admissions website, but it will point u in the right direction.
Hope this helps!

Hi, sorry I really cannot give u any expert advice, as I just started this semester. I would say take PATHOPHYSIOLOGY this summer if u can. U don't have to, but it is an option that they give you. You can also prepare yourself to be patient and flexible with program. The instructors I have met so far are nice, and they seem to be helpful. The students in semesters 2-5 are very nice, and the give us a lot of advice. It still seems a bit overwhelming to me, but I think once we get into the groove of a school and a study schedule things will seem a little less chaotic. I will keep u posted as things progress. I am glad some people are mentioning PV. Maybe we can start posting to keep us on the map (when there is time )

Hi Boink,
I have never been to the University Center, I have only gone to the nursing school in Downtown Houston. I just completed my first semester :hatparty: , and I really like the program. My first semester was great! Are you enrolled at PV now? I can say that we lost a lot of people b/c they thought nursing school was like regular college...BIG MISTAKE! Nursing school is nothing like regular college, and I think that shocks some people. Overall everything was great...if you plan on enrolling let me know. I can try and give u some advice.
