by par72

Hi Everyone,
I am going to interview with a hospital in Plano, TX soon. Wondering about the area and what kind of wages to expect. Anyone know anything about the Medical Center Plano ? Appreciate the help.

Try to email teeituptom - that nurse works in ER at PLano. It is an HCA facility and therefore pay is NOT great as a rule (I work at a different HCA hospital down the road from Plano).

Plano is in an upscale area, so they might pay a little more.

Good luck!

What unit are you interviewing for? As with all hospitals, some departments are better than others. PM me if you have specific questions.

Very nice hospital
Pay is about par for the area, I do well for myself anyway
Cost of living is rather inflationary as the whole area around plano is booming big time
Jobs are open in all areas
Good golf courses all around here, and if you like golf as much as I do thats an excellent fringe benefit
what do you shoot by the way, I carry a 5 handicap
schools are better than most in Texas
but then consider that Texas always rates near the bottom nationwide on an educational level.

That would be the 7th floor. A really busy unit but everyone is very nice (can't say that about some floors). There are two telemetry floors and I much prefer this one. Good luck!

I worked several areas at this hospital and enjoyed them all except the CV unit. The doctors were EXTREMELY rude...and this was the opinion of the ER docs also.It is a beautiful hospital and the staff is very nice.I worked everywhere but the CV units...I refused to work there and I have never refused to work anywhere.Just depends on how you react to working with hateful physicians.
