Nursing student

by smvtx23

Hey guys-
I am currently taking A&P 1 and will only have A&P2/ Microbiology left then I will be done with my pre/req's. Are there certain things that I should be doing before I apply so I am completley prepared? I want to make sure that I am doing everything right and in the right order. Thanks!!!

Take the NET and get great grades. If you can take Patho before starting nursing school, I highly recommend doing it as it will reduce your work load quite a bit the first semester.

Where do you want to go?

don't take the NET test if your school does not require it. there are schools that may require another test.

Yeah! I heard about that. A HESI type test, right?

You'll need to find out what your school wants. Most schools have slightly different requirements.

Here are a few classes that may not be required by your school, but I wish I had taken before I started my program:

Medical Terminology
Pharmacology
Pathophysiology

Uhm, that's all that comes to mind at the moment. Good luck!

Ensure that your immunizations are up to date. If they are greater than 10 years old, you might need to do them again. If you haven't started the Hepatitis B vaccination series, get started now.

i would recommend reading the websites of each school that you are interested in to see what they want and for their deadlines.
