Nurses in the DFW area! - How is the location, job, and pay?

I do live in the DFW. I am a pre-nursing student.
I was wondering how the area is "job wise?"
Meaning, are there many great opportunities in the DFW area?

As for the pay? Just wondering if you think you are earning enough or do you constantly have to relocate out of the DFW? I've read from other threads that it depends on your work experience?
If so, I should be a new grad by 2013 and I guess I have a lot of time between now and then to better my chances at landing a great job as a nurse.

I am interested in every field of nursing but especially in ER, Surgery, Pediatrics, and Labor and Delivery!
I hope when I get into nursing school I will be able to get a glimpse out of everything!
Thanks and I appreciate any thoughts or comments! Have a great Day!

I'm an LVN in DFW and have never had any difficulty finding work.

Newly graduated RNs typically start at $23 hourly in the hospital setting. Some hospitals, such as Baylor, only start out at $21.50 per hour. Other hospitals, such as Cooks Children's, offer a starting wage in excess of $25. However, $23 is the average starting rate that most area hospitals are willing to pay new RNs with no experience.
