I think that if you want to live in the Woodlands, then find a hospital there too. Dont commute to the med center. Memorial Hermann has a hospital in the Woodlands, and they are a wonderful system to work for. (IMO)
I live 15 minutes away from my job. Other people I work with live 45min-1hour away from it. I dont understand how you can do that for a 12 hour shift, and then come back to work in the morning. But, it can be done.
However, since you do NICU - it seems that all sick babies end up in the med center. Something to think about.
I think that there are carpools/vanpools that you can sign up for. Most hospitals have information on them.
