I would check with the schools to see what they will transfer before I made a decision - yes admissions are very competitive, but that is generally only the case for new entrants, not continuing students. Lord knows there is plenty of attrition in the programs so there is BOUND to be an open seat somewhere! Weatherford College
and Del Mar in Corpus Christi has an AD program online so you can live anywhere in the state - they might take a transfer student also.
If they can't take you for Fall, perhaps you could find an extern position for one semester and start back to school in the spring - but if you don't ask you will never know.
