New Grad to Corpus?

I am looking at possibly moving to the Corpus area. My boyfriend is from Portland and has kids. I am working in Louisiana now and making $19/hr plus shift diff. I also heard there is a Dr hospital about to open up in the area. Any input would be nice!

Spohn is always looking for Rn's. They will take on LVN's, too, but I don't know about the state licensure transfer from La to Tx. Driscoll Children's ONLY takes RN's and they are awesome to work for but always understaffed. I do think as an RN you will make more than $19/hr.

Corpus is one of the few good spots for new grads. I just graduated from A&M's accelerated program there last month, and several of my classmates got hired on with Spohn..even in specialty units like NICU, ER, ICU, etc. My friend really likes orientation so far, she gets $26/27 with night differential, not bad! It's worth looking into..

Congratulations on graduating, and best of luck in the job search!
