NET EXAM

by mau00

Does anyone know whats on the NET exam so i can know what to study?! I've been told their is only reading comprehension and math from people who have taken it in the past but i dunno if the test has changed and added biology or anatomy like the HESI which i also am taking next month. So if anyone has just taken the NET recently please let me know what was covered on the exam so i know if their is something else other than reading comprehension and math I can study that as well.

hey! there is more to it than just that. there is also a section on anatomy and phys and grammar, but only the reading comp. and math were graded for TWU in the past.

Really?I'm applying to UT houston too thats why im taking both the NET exam and Hesi.Yeah, i'm really confused because in this study guide is says only math and english relating materal for the NET exam, and ppl have told me that as well, but i'm still curious lol.I don't like why we have to take seperate test all of a sudden! but i hear the HESI is easier, which if shocking since their are more sections than the NET.

I think the reason that the NET was harder was because there is literally NO TIME to read the passages and sort the answers out. I don't want to make you nervous, but all the answers (a, b, c, d,) are practically the same with one or two words different. And I took the paper version, which we were not allowed to write on so you can't cross out answers. But I did hear that the online NET was easier, but TWU only wanted paper versions. So if you are taking it online, it could be easier. Just make sure you can read the passage and be able to answer questions without really going back to read. I had to guess on 6 questions since I didn't finish the reading. Every other section was easy. But the reading comp is what counts so it doesn't really matter if the other sections are easy or not. It could actually be easy for you since people do differently on tests, ya know? I am not telling you this to scare you, I just want you to be prepared. I wish someone had told me this before I took my test, but everyone was so darn competitive that no one spoke up.

I most recently took the NET in September 2008. It contained a math section with a mixture of the basics (decimals, percentages, fractions) and some elementary algebra. It had a reading comprehension section, a writing skills section, a natural science section, and a section that dealt with study skills.

The test proctor informed the test takers that only the writing skills, math, and reading comprehension portions would be scored.

Okay I recently took the ERI NET test here in houston on July 25 2009. It did have science, math, reading, but depending on your school most only look at math and reading score. I had the paper version I didnt know there was a online version

Hey I just took my test yesterday and all we had was reading and math. I have to agree that the reading is alot harder than the math. I was so hung up about studying the math that i forgot about the reading. Ugh there was just no time!! I got a call this morning and I PASSED!!! Yeah!!!!
