i took the net last week for admission to midwestern states program. i think the net test is harder than the hesi only due to the simple fact that there is absolutely not enough time to finish the reading passages. We had 30 mins to read and answer 33 questions! with the HESi we had 4 hours to do the whole test. there was no science section on my net and the reading section consisted of finding the main idea, inference, and predicted outcome. there was no vocabulary type question. my composite score was an 80%. 98% math and 61% reading composition. even though my reading score was horrible, as long as you have a grade equivalency of high school or above you can be considered for the program. I bought the online guide and the study guide book which definitely helped me in the math but as far as the reading it didnt help at all.

Hi ayeisha, where did you take your Net at? I didnt know the Hesi gives you 4 hours..that would be soooo much better. Thats where i think my problem is going to come in at, if I had like 45 minutes to do 33 questions I could do good on the reading section. i have to practice that before I take the exam. You did a great job on the math section, what parts of math did you have the most problems with? Do you know whats the lowest you can score on the whole exam? I have the Eri study guide, but what online study guide di you buy? Sorry its so many questions lol

future rn, I took the net test at Dallas Nursing Institute. yea i know i would have done way better if more time was allowed bc i made a 96% on the reading portion of the HESI. thats a big diffrence from a 61%! I really didnt have any problems at all with the math, even without a calculator. There was alot of conversion questions like coverting percentages to decimals and decimals to fractions..stuff like that. I think i only miss maybe one or two questions and it was probably just a missed error. different schools have different score minimums so I cant really say what is the lowest score you can make. I know for midwestern the website doesnt say a minimum score but it says you have to have a reading level of at least high school or above. When you get the score results back fdom the test it will say on there if you have a reading level of high school or above and when i said the online guide, i was meaning the online practice test from eri website, sorry. its like $20, and you can use it for 30 days. the only thing is it doesnt tell you what answers you missed or the right way to work the problems out

okay thats where Im taking mine in a couple of weeks. I have a little problem with scertain conversions..so I know what I really need to focus on. I might need to get the online practice test, i think that would help out a little bit..as far as the time limits and everything. I really appreciate the info!!! Good lock and keep us posted!
