Hi, can someone tell me if there is a grammar section on the NET? Like spelling, capitalization, etc. Good luck to all those taking it! Thanks!

It was only last summer when I took the NET test, but I honestly don't remember exactly what was on it! What I DO remember is that there is a NET test study guide, and they probably have copies of the book at the ECC bookstore. Though it's not cheap, about $35 as I recall, I believe it made all the difference for me, and I got into the program with a very high NET test score. Good luck with it.

Thank you for your help. I did buy the NET test study guide from ERI. In the study guide there's a section for grammar, but in the back of the book in the actual test section they don't cover that. So, I'm still confused as to whether or not we need to know that stuff on the real NET test. If anyone else can help answer this question I'd love to know. Thanks!

I did a retake of the NET this morning. The reading part is more comprehension than anything. You read passages then answer questions about theme, main idea and overall point. There is no grammer or spelling questions on the test.Let me know if you have anymore questions. Where are you going to take it at?

i took the net in durant, okla and it had the spelling grammer and stuff like that. i didn't do well on it. i didn't even know they knew what grammer and capitalization was in okla. haha. i took it in texas and am now in the lvn program at nctc in gainesville. the test was easier in texas i think. but it was basically the same in okla except for the grammer part.

The NET test is just like the sample tests in the study guide. I found the math section to be exactly the same, while the verbal section was in the same format and logic, but with longer passages and more questions. It is more about reading comprehension, which is why you need to study the vocab and grammar so you can make the correct choices. Do the sample tests and understand the approach to the passages that they provide. Good luck.

Default nctc
Hi,
I am thinking to attend a session for January class at nctc.
Is it very competitive to enter LVN program at nctc?
I called nctc today and they said about 300 people apply and only 35 people
will be chosen. Also they said NET score is very important.
I have NET study guide, but they don't have any sample exam for writing section. Would you tell me about NET at nctc?
Thank you.
