need some advice please

by cr8z

I am a RN in Texas. I recently received a letter from the BNE that someone alleged I violated privacy by disclosing a client dx. I dont want to go into detail but it is a he said she said ordeal. My questions are should I hire a lawyer from the very beginning or submit my response and see if it gets dropped (as of now they have no proof except the complainants call) and does anyone have lawyers to recommend that have been through this. I have been a nurse for over 10 years and this is the first time I have had any problems.

Anytime responding to board of nursing, best to have legal counsel to prevent self incrimination. Ideas to locate laywers include contacting local lawyer referral service, state nurses association or The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA)
