katy is wondeful place to stay. houston is very close to katy and many people who live in katy work in houston. i live in houston but commute to katy often 'cos i got family over there. Try finding work in katy 'cos the traffic is horrible to and from houston. LVNs working in LTC make about $18/hr. LVNs at my current hospital make even less! i don't know if experience counts as far as pay rate for LVN is concerned. i know this is nothing compared to waht you make in CA but the std of living here is less. i know your home too is quite less than what you would get in CA.
resident load ranges from 23-34. when i worked in houston, i had 36/37 on 3-11p.
BTW pay rates and resident load in katy are similar to houston's.

My sister-in -law lives in Katy but I don't know that much about it. I do know you should be able to find a good paying Job in Houston. I have been through there and its a nice area... Welcome to Texas!!!
