Moving to Dallas or Houston....

Hey to everyone. I am currently a nurse with 3 years of nursing experience, 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele/Ortho experience, 1 year of ICU (our ICU was combined Neuro/CV/Trauma/Med/Surg). I also have experience as an RN Supervisor at a nursing home (I've been a busy boy).

I currently reside in Mississippi, and am looking at moving to either Houston or Dallas at the beginning of next year. Just would like to get some opinions on where would be the best. I hear that Houston pays more, but any suggestions of the best hospitals to work for and also if anyone has some information on some of the nicer places to get apartments in the areas that would be great also.

Thanks,
JBizzleRN

I live/work in Houston. My hospital system was in the top 10 of Fortune's 100 Best Companies to work for the last several years and running.

PM me for details-- I'm in a community hospital satellite that is expanding and opening a brand new tower in April 2010 and we will be hiring many new ICU nurses as our ICU will increase from 12 beds to 32. We're mixed M/SICU.

Being in the 'burbs instead of in the medical center, there's lots of nice affordable housing/apartments/condos around here.
