Moving to Corpus Christi

Sorry the reply has taken so long but that may say something about this area. I have worked in CC for more than 1 year and have jumped employers 3 times. This is very out of character for me but I have never felt at home or comfortable here. I would suggest not working for the major medical employer of the town. HH may be a good idea since you are more on your own but just do your research. Spohn has kind of have a monopoly with the hospital system. I would not advise a nurse to move here unless you have family in the area for support. I know the rent may look cheap in comparison to Washington but there is a reason for everything. I plan on moving back to Dallas in a year or two when RN school is completed. If you are thinking beach think more like cess pool unless your in south padre. The hurricane season makes me bite my nails for months and when people say it's hot/humid here you really have felt nothing like it. During the summer months kids can't even play outside it's just really disgusting. I wish I had something better to say about it but if you are looking for the truth you got it. The people here are friendly but very traditional, religious and if you are more on the left side or openminded you may be the odd man out. I would suggest trying a major metro area like Houston, San Antonio, Dallas and I have heard that Austin is very nice too.
