Re: Midwestern State University hey guys. for those of you who are applying still i calculated my points on the point system and i can tell you all of my stats so maybe yall can see where you are. I had 92 points when I applied. And I will break it down. I had a 3.41 on Nursing prerequisites. I had a 3.33 on the Prerequisites and the Core. I received the full 42 points for the BSN core & prerequisite courses with a grade of “C” or above." section I received the full 10 points for the 1 pt – per course with grade of “B” or above (max. 10 points) A&P I, A&P II, Microbiology, Chem., Math, Engl I, Engl II, Gen. Psyc, Intro to Socl, Devel Psyc.. I received 19 points for the BSN core and/or prerequisite courses currently in progress. I think that is a typo because surely they will give points for people who have already completed them as well as those who are taking them. I took everything except Economics, the P.E. and the computer requirement. Okay, so now its the cumulative gpa and core. You receive 1 point for every .10 you are over 2.50 So I had a 3.33, so that would come out to 9 points. So that 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3. I did that incase any of you were getting confused on how I came up with the 9 points. You also receive 1 point for every .10 you are over 2.50 for the Nursing Prerequisites. I had a 3.41, so that comes to 10 points. Same formula as above. I received 2 points for being “POST HIGH SCHOOL” on my Reading portion of the NET. This is the reading level that you read at. Its either Below High School, High School, or Post High School. So if you add all them up 42 10 19 9 10 2 That comes out to 92 points. Those of you who are wondering. I had a 76 on the NET reading portion And 79 on the NET Math portion. PM me with anymore questions | | No. 43 |

Re: Midwestern State University
yes. it has changed. and here is something i did. instead of waiting on WTNEC to send my transcripts to the nursing dept, i also printed unofficial transcripts and sent them to ********* **** along with my NET so she had those already and in my mind it made the process quicker and easier. because it takes WTNEC like a week and a half to send them to MSU

Re: Midwestern State University
I'm still waiting for acceptance to MSU as well as access to WTNEC. Did you get access to make an account on WTNEC after you were accepted Prettyladie?

Re: Midwestern State University
i created a WTNEC account before i applied to the university if that is what you are asking. i didnt apply to the university until i knew i was accepted into the program.

You're math was a bit off so I fixed your calculations Originally Posted by Prettyladie hey guys. for those of you who are applying still i calculated my points on the point system and i can tell you all of my stats so maybe yall can see where you are.
I had 92 points when I applied. And I will break it down.

____________________________
Total 42 points
If you were to have taken every single one of those you would make 42 points, but you stated that you havent taken Economics, PE, and the computer course. So the max you could make here is actually 38.
I received the full 10 points for the 1 pt – per course with grade of “B” or above (max.
You misunderstood this category. This category gives you 1 point for each core/prereq course that you are currently taking or plan to take before being accepted into the nursing program. (Basically anything that hasn't gotten a Letter Grade yet.)
Since you have taken all of your prereqs, and the core isn't necessary for admission, and since I don't know if you're taking courses or not right now, this could be between 0 and 2 points added depending on if you plan on taking economics and computer before enrolling.
Okay, so now its the cumulative gpa and core. You receive 1 point for every .10 you are over 2.50
So I had a 3.33, so that would come out to 9 points. So that 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3. I did that incase any of you were getting confused on how I came up with the 9 points. 3.33-2.5 = 0.8, so you get 8 points.
You also receive 1 point for every .10 you are over 2.50 for the Nursing Prerequisites. I had a 3.41, so that comes to 10 points. Same formula as above. 3.41 - 2.5 = 0.91, so you get 9 points.
I received 2 points for being “POST HIGH SCHOOL” on my Reading portion of the NET. This is the reading level that you read at. Its either Below High School, High School, or Post High School.
So your totals are -
38
10
0-2
8
9
2
Which Is between 67 and 69 points.

Re: Midwestern State University
im so confused on how you got that. you get 42 points for the first section alone, then you get 10 points for the other section. so how are you getting 42 all together.
