Re: Midwestern State University
yeah just call ********* or ***** and they should be able to tell you the deadline, but as far as i know it was still september. i think there maybe be a problem with the WTNEC system, and maybe its generated from the fall 2009 applicants and maybe there were some late submissions. so maybe it hasnt started over

Re: Midwestern State University
I will also be applying for Midwestern State University for the Spring 2010 semester, any insight would be appreciated. I haven't take the N.E.T yet and was wondering what subjects I should be brushing up on?? Also, will anyone else be living around the Lawton, Ok area, and know what there is to do around the area? Additional info: I spoke briefly with someone in the nursing department today and they said that they take the top 80 students based on the point system they have in place, but I don't really know how many applicants they get a semester, or how many points you need to be competitive so any info on that would be great, and I was also wondering on how to calculate my GPA, I currently hold a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Management, and obtained a 3.5 GPA while pursuing this degree, my concern is the pre-req's for the Nursing Program, and how badly they are going to hurt my GPA, Does anybody know how to calculate it?? For one four hour credit class I had a C, the next was a B, Not sure if Nutrition counts, but that was a 3 hour credit and I had an A, currently enrolled in Microbiology with Lab, and Chemistry with Lab, and I'm not doing so well, I'm hoping that I end up with B's but don't know if I'll be able to pull it off, Worst case scenario would be C's, and I'm really hoping it won't drag my GPA below a 3.2, any help would be appreciated, thanks

Re: Midwestern State University
Hey! Me too! I'm going to MSU and supposed to have a "definite" done deal on the nursing program, Spring 2010. Do you guys live in Wichita Falls? None of this is easy, right? Or is it just me?

Re: Midwestern State University
Hey guys. I've been accepted to MSU. So, any questions you have for me please send me a pm. It might take me until Monday to respond, because I'm in the process of moving; and my internet wont be running again until Monday. But i can answer any questions you have about GPA, the point system, your class schedule, books, the area, pretty much any and everything.
Good Luck,
Davaion

Re: Midwestern State University
Hello all, you should definately brush up on the math and reading..I havent taken the NET yet( but i will in 2 weeks), I also hear that there is a science section but it wouldnt count towards your points. They do accept 80 applicants but she told me when I went there to get advised that they usually take it down to like 90-100 because some students dont accept the offer. I had 59 points when I got advised in April, but now I think I have like 60 or 61, but she told me that I shouldnt have a problem getting in. If you go onto the nursing website under BSN prelicensure then it shows you how your points will be calculated. Now I know for a fact that you get points for already havinga degree. Now I retook all the courses that I had C's in except one class. But that I really cant say simply because you have to get advised and let her tell you what you need to do as far as the C's go. Litenurse2b hello, no I dont live in Wichita Falls, I stay in Dallas, but ITS VERY SCARY to me, its just alot of stress studying for the test and worrying whether or not Im going to get in or not...even though she told me that I shouldnt have any problems getting in, its still scary. I hope this helped you guys! ANY SHE REALLY CAN GUYS....SHE HAS ANSWERED EVERY QUESTION I HAD ABOUT MSU!

Re: Midwestern State University
Ayeisha,
To tell you the truth, I am not even sure about my acceptance status for Spring 2010, because I keep forgetting to call admissions to see if they will change my acceptance date to spring from fall 2009. I had originally planned on applying for fall 2009, but missed the WTNEC deadline by 12 minutes (I know...but hey, I am on the west coast, and didn't realized the website was working on east coast time). So anyways, I was accepted to UTEP and Midwestern State in the pre-nursing majors. When I missed the nursing major deadling, UTEP changed my acceptance date to spring after I explained the situation to the admissions office, but I never called MSU, and I need to get on that. I was hoping I wouldn't have to pay the fee again.
I wouldn't worry about not getting into MSU because I read somewhere that it is generally an easy school to get into. If your GPA is at least average, you have taken all of the prerequisites, and you are in good standing at the institutions previously attended, I don't see why you wouldn't get in. If acceptances don't go out until September, I think it is safe to say that you will get an acceptance letter from MSU pre-nursing in September. I wouldn't sweat this portion of the process. Good luck.

Re: Midwestern State University
Oh wow...i didn't even ask them that! I will be calling in the morning though, that is not fair at all. Midwestern has a habit about that....When I applied the first time it took them FOREVER just to take that 25 dollars out of my account..it drove me crazy!!!
