I just got an e-mail stating they were hiring at all 5 of their hospitals and to pass the word on. I think I may work three shifts back to back, stay with family, and then come home for 4 days and repeat. Anyways, they seem really nice, and I made sure the positions I applied for didnt state it required any experience. They seem to be very new grad friendly! Unlike Houston
Thanks for the info! At least once you get the internship experience you can move around to another hospital that is closer to home, that is what i am planning on if i get a job outside of houston. Have an interview Tuesday and am so anxious that this may be the only one i get in Houston . And I agree with how Houston doesnt like new grads! ; )

I am glad some nurses have responded. Allnurses didn't email me to let me know there were responses. Anyways I am glad that I am not the only one still waiting to hear back from them. It makes one nervous wondering if they didn't get the app or if they just put you in "file 13". By the way how does everyone feel about property taxes there? I am from out of state.

Question Heard anything from Hermann yet?
Just wondering if anyone who applied for the January internships had heard anything yet. Or even gotten confirmation that their application was received. I thought I was a patient person but this is testing me. It would just ease my mind just knowing that my application is where it is supposed to be.

No word at all. I haven't received the confirmation email either. I wonder if they are extending the interview process? I checked my app online and it said status "applied", and it was still open. I would love to know if anyone has had contact with them.

So would I. It's very frustrating. When they extended the application period, I wondered if it was because they received too few applications. Maybe they now have so many it is taking a while to sort through them. Really though, I guess we can only wait (impatiently) and see what happens. We are truly at their mercy.

I have another post on here on the same topic. Seems that no one has been contacted or received a confirmation yet.

I haven't heard anything.. but I was skipped over during their last new grad internship in May 2009 as well though- I was told I didn't make the cut because I didn't work as a nurse tech in school, have a BSN, nor was I a previous LVN; apparently people were ranked on those criteria because of the large number of applicants... hopefully it is not as competitive this go around!

They extended the application period? I didn't know that. Sounds to me like they had too few applicants or not enough "qualified" applicants to me.

Did you graduate in May then? Have you worked anywhere as a nurse since then? I ask because I have already graduated as well and am still working at the job I have had for years (not a nurse tech or LVN though).

Call 'em and ask. I applied for an internship as a new grad and then had to move, but they called me 2x after that. And since I've started working there as an "experienced" nurse, I still get their recruiters calling and emailing me with openings.
