If it makes you feel better, Montgomery's first year is also incredibly disorganized and I came out of the first year feeling under prepared compared to the syllabus.

I'm in the Kingwood program and love it! It has its flaws like any other program but overall I get a very helpful vibe from all the instructors. I just finished my first semester and I had a great clinical instructor and really feel like I learned so much. Also I don't know if you'd be interested in it or not, but Kingwood is launching its online program for students with another degree already. Since you already have a degree that could be something to look into! Best of luck to you!

Don't worry, I know a couple people who have gone there and they did fine : )

I'm sure there are problems with every program. You just have to keep the end result in mind.

I understand your concern for wanting to go into the best program. It's so difficult right now to get into a nursing program in Houston, so if you get into a program, go to the school. Most of your "education" will occur once you start your first job. It's true that you some new nurses start out with a higher level of skills when they start their first job, but after the first couple of months, most skills even out, and then it didn't really matter what school you went to.

I agree w/houstoncprinstructor - it is hard to get into any nursing schools these days...so, I would apply to all and then maybe you'll get accepted to more than one and have your choice.

Mz Eboni,
Your best source of info can be found on the school website www.lonestar.edu, nursing(search engine). You can only take the Hesi test during the app period, which the next one will be sometime in January. They only take the most recent test score. Focus on reading and math, I know its not much info on my part, but I HTH.

Do you know when this program is suppose to begin? I already have my bachelor's degree and am doing the career-switch thing as well. I will check out their website; however, if you have any other info, I would love to hear about it!
