Re: On the last one....i got in
hey futureRN. you need to hurry up and get 15 posts so we can private message. lol. but here is what i can tell you. WTNEC handles all of west texas applications, its free to apply to one of thsoe, but if you also want to apply to tech, it will cost you for one of those. umm. the science on the NET i didnt study for, and it is on there and i literally guessed on ALL of them and missed one. so lol idk its not too bad, but i cant tell you how to study for it. you shouldnt have a problem getting in because when i was up there registering there were people there who havent even taken stats, or some other prereqs. i was so nervous that i retook all of my prereqs i had a C in but dont worry your gpa looks good. if you are core complete, meaning all the basics done, you wont have but 9 hours your first semester which is intro to nursing, patho, and health assessment. you can take patho and intro to nursing before hand, and you will only have health assessment, but i needed to be full time so i didnt take them. clinical times are between 8-5. i got 10-12 on tuesdays, so thats great. patho is online, and tests are on campus. you have the same teacher for health assessment and intro to nursing. they accept 80 people, and then if your 81 and beyond you're on a waitlist. when you apply its okay if your transcripts havent reached their designated places before the deadline approaches. just make sure you submit the application on time the transcripts can come later. i applied in february, and got the letter April 18th. so approx 2 months waiting time. the orientation is mandatory in order to register. its the schools orientation, and if you have more than 30 hours attend the first transfer day orientation if you can because clinical times will fill up verrry quickly... the nursing orientation is the saturday after the first week of classes, i know its wierd, but thats how it is. buy your scrubs somewhere other than the bookstore. they are taxing majorly. and incase you dont know what that means..it meas verrrrrrry expensive. i got mine at JCPenney outlet in grapevine mills mall, idk if you're in the DFW area, but thats where i got mine. but im sure you can find them cheaper elsewhere. also they tax hard on the books too. so go to chegg.com, half.com or amazon and ebay. lets see..i know im jumping ahead, but im confident you will get in. i met 2 reallly great girls, and ive been texting them a lot who are going to msu, so as soon as you find out you're accepted meet some ppl and stay close because like us, we knew nobody, so be we got close before we moved. i met one at spirit days that i met on allnurses and shes a sweetheart. they will definitely help you through the process. so keep posting on here and try to meet as many people as possible. they have an assessment kit in the library for health assessment, and they have a ADscope stethoscope, so its not the most expensive, and im saying this because if you find a stethoscope that you like and its not that expensive its okay. i know some schools require littmann, but its what you like. and they have a BP cuff there too. the package is 80. i got everything plus bandage scissors, penlight etc. for 50 at majors bookstore in dallas, so shop around before you think of that bookstore. umm. any other questions just ask me. i feel like im rambling. so just ask away.
