Ummm......not quite sure how to put this but could you spell out your words? Most of us here are old fogies not used to the internet speak....I had to ask my daughter if this was a spelling issue or internet shorthand!

Lexie,

I moved your post to the Texas Forum for more responses. Rice is a very competitive school with a top-notch academic reputation, but they don't have a nursing program currently.

Correct, Rice University does not have a nursing program. The BSN programs in Houston are: Texas Woman's University, University of Texas-Houston, Prairie View University and UTMB in Galveston.

You can take your pre-reqs at any of the community colleges such as: Houston Community College, San Jacinto Community College District, North Harris Community College District, Lee College in Baytown, and I believe College of the Mainland. I believe all of these schools offer the ADN program as well.

Lamar University too. It's in Beaumont, but if you live on the NE side of town, it can be a quick commute.
Houston Baptist University is located in the SW part of town and they offer both ADN and BSN programs.
And some of the Uuniversity of Houston campuses offer nursing as well.

your best best would be to go to that university's website and do some research. if you do get into a BSN program, you will quickly learn that research is a big part of the education. so look at it as on opportunity to practice.

Sorry to sound realistic Lexie, but spelling is a virtue in the field of medicine and nursing. Perhaps you should continue on in community college and take an english or creative writing class?

TazziRN, I speak frequently on the internet and via text messaging and there is no problem with completing words and sentences. And I'm not that old.
