How long it will take to go through clearance for arrest record?

by RNcool

Hi folks:
Many years ago I was arrested for a minor issue, the case was dismissed. Now I am applying for a Texas license now,I know I have to go through legal department in Texas Board of Nursing for legal clearance as I was arrested before.

I know I will be Ok because the case was a very minor issue. I am planning to move to Texas next month, I wonder how long it will take to go through this legal clearance? The operator in Texas Board of Nursing told me it would take up to 6 months! Anyone can tell the real time it will take? Thank you!

My friend had two dui's one 7 years ago & one 13 years ago prior to becoming a RN. He received his license without a problem. He submitted his application for endorsement to Texas back early July, late June. In early August he was told by the board to send back $150. & proof the he completed community service. He is still waiting & has been told the samething it could take up to 6 months to receive a response. He too is wondering how long this process will take. Thanks!

If the Texas State Board says up to 6 months, believe them Also, refer to this post Nursing Licensure With A Criminal History for any other questions.
