Fort Worth Area Research Nursing

I'm reposting this in the Texas forum:

I am a new grad working in the ICU that is done with bedside nursing. My previous career was as a research assistant and I'm missing the research world. I'm looking into working as a research nurse/clinical research coordinator. Are there any places in the Fort Worth area but not Dallas that will hire and train clinical research coordinators? I know UNT Health Science Center at Fort Worth has in the past. Is there anywhere else? Any help would be greatly appreciately!! Thanks!!

Hi,

This is the only one I know of in private industry: http://www.benchmarkresearch.net/industry/fortworth/
Send in a resume and cover letter even if they don't post an opening.

Also send one in to Childrens as they do a lot of research.

Hope that helps!

Hi! Thanks for the info!

It's a small board. I came across your member page during a clinical research coordinator search of the site a few days ago and left a vistor message:

""Hi! I'm a second degree (previous career in research) new grad (Aug '08) currently working in a Fort Worth ICU. While searching through posts your member page came up. I'm interested in going back into research, this time with my nursing degree, i.e. as a possible clinical research coordinator. I saw that you live or lived in the same area I do and that you are or were a clinical research coordinator. I was wondering if you have the time to give me some insight into your job especially in the Fort Worth area. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.""

On a side note, When I was a research assistant I worked @ UNTHSC in Fort Worth (with mice!).

I was just wondering if anybody had some additional input since I posted this. I've now been working in the ICU for 1 year and would still like to pursue clinical research. I know there are many Dallas-based facilities, but are there any other Fort Worth Area research centers? Thanks in advance!
