Fall 09 - North Lake \ El Centro - Email from Kanora?

by jpgmavs

Has anyone received an email yet about the fingerprinting and other information from Kanora Jackson?

At the orientation in June at North Lake she said to keep an eye out for emails from them this summer. I think just with some extra information and steps to get fingerprints and drug testing done before we start in the Fall.

Thanks

I haven't received anything ewither (ECC Fall 09). I thought that July 21 was the day we were supposed to see something on eConnect about registering for classes, getting insurance, etc.

There is a little more info on eCampus though. If you go into the Community tab, and then search for Nursing and then click on ECC AD-Nursing, there's an announcement that Ms. Becker put up today with info about Terrell clinical orientation. If you go there, and then click on "Hospital Info" at the top of the screen, there's a bunch of stuff about the different clinical assignments (it's last year's stuff though, I think).

LOL I'm getting tired of having to hunt stuff down on eCampus ... an email would sure be nice. Maybe tomorrow!

When we started last spring, we had a 3 day orientation the week that school started. This is when they did the fingerprinting and drug testing. I imagine you will get the info closer to the orientation date, if ya'll are doing the 3 day orientation this semester. There will be an online background check as well as info to print for the fingerprinting. It just has to be done before ya'll start clinicals and that won't be until after 8 weeks of school, I think.
For us, Kanora is registering us on July 31st, so I bet that's when ya'll will be registered too.

Did anyone else sign up for Ms. Beecham's Care Plan Class through continuing education on Aug. 13th? At first there was no book required so I was happy about that, then today I found that there is a book required-$47.20! The class was only $40! Oh well, I should have known.

Hi there, I am enrolled in the class as well, but nobody told me that I have to buy a book. I asked the lady that was enrolling in the class and she told me that it was not neccessary. Anyway, how did you know about the book and what is the name of the book? if so is going to be very expensive.

Hello, when I enrolled with Continuing Education I also asked if there was a book and was told no. However, just to make sure I went under My Classes on econnect and it is under summer I (I'm not sure why), and oh no, I went under Buy my books on econnect and selected summer I and it shows:
Required Material(s)

  • Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-RN: Reviews etc (w/CD) Buy This Item

    New $47.20 [In-Stock]
    Author:Hogan Edition:
They didnt have any used ones, and it will cost 47.20, as you can see. I cannot imagine having to buy this book for a one day class, but I will buy it.

I would suggest to wait, do not buy the book yet. What we can do is to call to find out if we need a book or not. Anyway that book looks that is for Nclex not for care plans, so be careful. I will try to find out.

I just called the continued education and they told me that they did not know anything about a book, but that I had to call the bookstore to ask. I did call them and they told me that they did not had any books for that class in their list, so it was possible that we do not need any books. Do not worry about that, I think that if we have to buy a book probably Ms Beecham is going to contact us by email and tell us if we need a book or not.
