ER nurse pt ratio's in texas

Hi. I'm currently doing a travel assignment in California in the ER. The nurse pt ratio here is 4:1 by law. I am looking at going to Corpus Christi in Feb but i hear that Texas has terrible ratio's in the ER. Does anyone have any info?

I'm currently in a 54 bed ER and our recommended ratio is 4:1, but I have on occasion had 5 or 6. I don't think there is any law here to limit the ratio.

In my hospital it depends on what kind of day your having, how busy it is. The most I have had in ER was 10 pts. Usually its 5-6. Hope this helps.
