Dallas - Children's Medical Center???

by Jenrn05

I will be graduating next fall and my husband and I have been looking at scholarships from Children's Medical Center in Dallas. I was wondering if anyone on here works there and what the atmosphere is like. Also I have never been to Dallas so I am curious how the schools are there. We will probably be looking for private schools though. Hubby has visited Richardson and Corpus Christie and loved both of the areas. My son is 8, daughter is 6. My son wants to be a cowboy and wants us to move now!! Any info is greatly appreciation!

Thanks,
Jen

Trinity Christian is a great private school. Public schools depend on what area you move to. Good luck.

The Carrollton/Famers Branch area has a WONDERFUL school system (I'm a product of it ) and the houses have a fairly moderate price as far as the nicer school districts go. C/FB is also a great location for working anywhere in the metroplex, it's close to major highways and streets. If you're willing to live further out of town and maybe pay a little more for a home investment, Southlake is a real up and coming town right now.

I believe the Weatherford Schools are good also. And it is a booming community (lots of cowboys - haha) and only 30 minutes from Ft. Worth

Weatherford schools aren't too bad. Do NOT put your kids in the Lake Worth/Saginaw or Grandbury systems...they are NOT good. And if you live IN dallas, do private school. Dallas city public schools aren't all that great. The best schools will be in the N. Dallas suburbs and the mid-cities area. Not sure about schools in FW.

Plano and Frisco both have good reps. They are both suburbs to the north of Dallas (very close to Richardson). But, never ever send your children to Dallas Independant School District!! Greenhill is a good private school in North Dallas. Good luck!!
