I agree with living in the burbs which pretty much all run together. It really is difficult to tell where Austin turns in to Pfleugerville which turns into Round Rock. Rent/Housing costs are much more economical in the outlying areas and they are much more family oriented as far as schools. I don't know if personally I would want to live as far out as Georgetown, too far from the city. Austin is wonderful though. The weather is great and there is always something to do wether you are single or married with kidos.
I live on the RR,P-ville border and currently work in the ER at
Heart Hospital. I have about a 30 minuet commute in traffic. We are working on our magnet status. It is a nice place to work, I love my co-workers. WARNING-Just stay away from nursing in the CCU!!!!!!! Our OR stays VERY busy. The largest group of CV surgeons in town prefer (so they say) to do their bypasses at Heart. Like our name says though, we are a one organ hospital

, so if you prefer transplants or any other type of surgery check out Seton or Brack (the trauma unit)- both are magnets.
Good Luck!
