I am already in the CCCCD nursing program, and wanted to share my experience. When I applied I had 15 points with a GPA of 3.9. As the DON for the College will tell you, historically people with 14's will get in. However, I did hear that for the incoming students for fall 09, that very few 14's made it into the class. They do look at your GPA, as that is figured into part of your points, however you accrue points for prereqs completed and the higher the grade the more points, and also, a good amount (6) points come off of the entrance exam. There is a tremendous amount of competition to get in, and there are only 48 slots available.
Talk with the nursing advisor and she will be able to help you figure out what you need to do.I hope this answered some of your questions and I wish you the best of luck!

I have applied. They told me that 16s make it, most 15s make it, very few 14s make it and pretty much once in a blue moon a 13 will make it (almost never). Anything below that, not a chance. Most 14s do not get in. I have not completed all my pre-req's but I applied. I am cautiously hopeful I will get in based on the information I was given. If not, I have reason to feel hopeful about Fall 2010 for sure.

i applied for the spring 2010 program, but i think i may have to really try hard with the psb exam. i only had 10 points.

I'm in the program at Collin County, set to graduate in May 2010. In my class, the lowest person accepted into the program had 14 points. I don't know if it's become easier or harder, though, since I started.

Im at NLC or dcccd and not sure if I will stay. I know one other lady who is older like me and started there. Shes well on her way.
