Austin Moms/Nurses I need your help!!

I have been plugging away at pre-requisites for a year and a half now and due to soaring gas prices have decided to make the move to Austin by August 1st. I am married with two wonderful daughters ages 3 and 8. I would love to get some info on good elementary schools/ daycare facilities in the area. We are looking primarily in the north side of town but any info would be great. Also if anyone knows of any health care jobs I would appreciate the leads. I am not certified nor do I have healthcare experience but would love to get into the field sooner than later. For the past 8 years I have worked as an administrative asst. One other thing - how does everyone coincide their schedule with their children's (dropping off and picking up from school)?

Check out www.greatschools.com, it's a great site. If you want to be in north Austin proper, look at Summit Elem, Pond Springs Elem, Laurel Mt Elem, Kathy Caraway Elem, and Pillow Elem. There are also many acclaimed schools in the outlying towns, especially in Round Rock. As far as daycare centers, the only I have experience with is Stepping Stone. They have won many awards, have a great program, and offer several locations all over town ~ even at a couple of the local hospitals. Good luck with your search ~ And WELCOME!!
