Anyone going to South Plains in Lubbock?

by Brandi8

I am starting in the Fall for my pre Reqs. It will be about a year and half or 2 before I actually apply for the nursing part. IS there a wait or do they just go by pts to get in?

Would love to talk to someone else wanting to go to nursing school in my area.

Thanks

I graduated from the LVN program at Reese just over a year ago. I got right in the first time, but I think they have like 150 or more applicants (I can't remember how many they said) per class. Even though they don't accept everyone, I think there are still both alternates and a waiting list.

There is a nursing school in big springs, tx at the community college there. There pre-req's requirements are VERY light, and you will be in the program in less than a year from now

I'm currently at SPC finishing my prereqs. I've talked to a few students in my classes and it is an even mix of those going to SPC for nursing and those going to Covenant for nursing. I'm looking at the accelerated BSN at Tech and possibly a direct entry msn program. It is nice to see some folks from the area pursing nursing as well. Good luck on your program.

If you already have your bachelors degree the university of washington offers an entry to practice DNP program.

So if you have a non-nursing bachelors degree and the pre-req's you can go through and get your BSN equivalent, MSN (in whatever speciality you want) and finally your DNP..all within 5 years or so.

Good luck
