Re: Anyone employed at Scott & White in Temple??
Well...be careful what you wish for...it is definitely WARM here...more like HOT!(

) I was born and raised in a small town outside of Austin, however, I did spend the last 6 years in DFW(dallas/ft worth). The slogan that Austin has developed is 'Keep Austin Weird," if that gives you any indication of what its like to live here. There are beautiful parts and there are ugly parts just as there are in many cities. Hispanic population is large here, which is true of many Texas cities/towns. People in Texas in general are very nice(IMO). If you will be working in Temple, I would suggest living closer to it...maybe Georgetown or Waco or Temple itself. Round Rock is one of my favorite areas here because its not too densely populated and there are tons of new developments. It really depends on what you like when deciding where to live here.
If I was forced to live in any area, I would chose a surrounding city instead of living smack dab in Austin like Manor, Round Rock, Leander, Lago Vista, Georgetown...the list goes on

. Waco houses Baylor University, however, there arent really any spectacular things there! Hillsboro, which is on the northern side of Waco(not too far from Temple) is where the Outlet Mall is...but they also just built one in Georgetown which is south of Temple(and closer). I'm probably rambling on and on now...lol...so I will STOP!
Move to Texas and you definitely will not be shoveling snow! If you have a spot waiting on you, take it! You can fill me in on what its like starting out in the PICU(my goal) once you get here!
