I would apply to Grayson's LVN-to-RN transition program in a heartbeat, if only I was TSI exempt (which I am not).

Hello

I am not witing, but I did graduate in May from GCC RN program, I just wanted to say GCC is a good school, 30 of us have took the NCLEX and have passed most with 75 questions (including myself).

Most of had jobs before we even graduated.

GCC has instructors that really care about their students. T0ugh program but you willl know your stuff when you finish. You can get a job anywhere. Every job I applied I received a job offer. The Dallas metroplex love GCC grads.

Good luck I pray you get accepted.

I graduated from the LVN program in 2005 and the LVN-RN program in 2007. GCC is a great school. You will be well prepared when you finish. Just be prepared it is going to be difficult - the LVN program was very strict about things.

Is GCC a private college? How much is the tuition?

Hello All,
Thanks for all your support. I am still just trying to remain busy and hope for the best. I will keep everyone updated.

Grayson County is a Community College. I believe the entire LVN program is like $5,000 including books. You should check out their website and feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

I did not pay anywhere near $5000 that they quote on the info page. Tuition ran around $2300 - it is a community college, apply for scholarships and financial aid. Books around $500 - I purchased mine thru ebay, half.com, amazon etc & I only purchased what was absolutetly necessary (textbooks, drug book, NCLEX study guide). Uniforms - $100. Required skills kit $175.

Got my letter today....I was selected as alternate #13. I feel as though it is over. I really doubt that 12 people decline their spot. That would be stupid. Well, once I finish crying my tears away I will begin to work on plan B. Thank you all for your support.

You may be surprised. Many people apply to both the LVN and the RN program at the same time, and plans change for people. There may be a chance for you to be accepted.
