To All HCC Nursing Students

I have been offered a spot in HCC's pharmacology class. Do you know of anyone who took pharmacology, did well, and did NOT get into clinicals? I really don't want to waste my summer taking this course - then not get into the actual program.

Thanks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Warmest Regards,

Aussie

Hello AussiePupOwner,
Congrats for being offered pharmarcology. u are very close getting into the program. i turned in my application in Jan and i was told to call back in May to register to take pharmacology in summer. i cannot wait. I do not know of anyone that has taken if during summer but if u can make it to this point then you can do it. Do not think of it as wasting your time. keep a positive mind. Goodluck to u.

Hi Betty. I took my prereqs at HCC-Stafford. I guess what I'm asking is if anyone did well in pharmacology, but did not get "picked" for the nursing program? Do you know of any? I am also still holding out for UTMB. Good luck to you.

I graduated from HCC a few years ago. As far as I know anyone who can pass that class with a B or above is assured a spot. They make this class tough, as it is considered to be the weeding out process. Do not take this class lightly.

Thanks for your information. I appreciate it. I have heard that HCC uses their Pharm as a major weed out. Someone once told me that "they set you up to fail instead of teach you...". I don't know how true this is; however, I'm assuming the school may do this to see who can learn on their own?? I don't know accurate the statement is, so I'm not judging. I do plan on taking pharm by itself though.
