    This site has not only given me an opportunity to share my experiences with others, but it has also been a huge help to my career path.

    This site has been my #1 source of information about my profession, nurse anesthesia. Not only are there valuable postings my members here, but there are also links to helpful websites as well. I would be literally lost if I didn't know the latest nursing news, what the tough parts in Micro are, or many many other aspects of the nursing career. Thanks to all the mods and users here for the great jobs they do. I think I speak for everyone when I say it really has had an impact on our lives.:hatparty: Bravo.

    i agree with you, doug. i got online here to read the boards when i first started my ADN program and a classmate told me about it (hi melanie, if you see this) i think this is a great source of encouragement and support for students and nurses. i like the ways everyone offers an opinion - or another way of looking at a situation - or a story about their own experience in the same type of situation. it is very helpful.

    i have often imagined a staff meeting where the experienced nurses talked aobut mistakes they made when they were new. i think it would be educational and would keep me from doing those things. certainly i would make new mistakes! but it would show us new nurses that this is all one BIG learning experience- until we retire!

    These boards have been a valuable resource all through nursing school. School can teach you facts and skills, but I think it takes thoughtful discussion with other nurses to learn what it means to be a nurse. You can get that from classmates, instructors, staff nurses in the clinical setting, and in many instances from nurses you know and/or work with, but allnurses puts you in touch with a wide range of views from nurses all over the world.

    I have worked in the hospital for over two years before going to nursing school and lots of nurses from different specialties have said, "Go to school and learn all you can, and then when you are done is when you really learn how to be a nurse."
    I am looking fwd to learning how to do that.

    I love this site-I am a new grad (Ihave been a CST for 15 years)-I was on another nursing site, and it was like working on a unit where everyone is ticked off-one person would post asking a question-something simple-and instead of getting help, they would get mocked or attacked!
    This site is so positive and helpful-just lots of positive energy and encouragement. I come here everyday now- :kiss
