Register Today!- May 26, '12 by nikkih901Quote from shieldstaylor1The STCC Nursing program is 2 years/4 semesters. In my opinion yes, Nursing school is very hard. But obviously it is doable.if i had took everything except the courses that i have to take was im accepted into the program how long would i have in the fall 2013 program? I calculated maybe 30 credits before then. Is it hard? Do you work and go to school? I stop working so I could be dedicated to this only. I hope all is well, I see you have to take 2 course again. Plz if its no problem could you just give me the downlow. So I can try my best to be on point. Thx for replying.
As I stated on another thread, I was dismissed from the program because I failed the 2 classes that I will retake this Fall. If I had not failed those classes, I would be graduating this Fall. However, with 2 academic failures you automatically have to sit out of the program for 2 semesters. I was working a full time and part time job and just simply doing too many other things outside of school. Not working is not an option for me however, I will definitely quit my part time job once Fall session starts. - Aug 9, '12 by pcarter2324Hey Nikki, Just wante to let you I am still hanging in there and actually did take the professor that you recommended and I loved him. Thank you I plan on taking micro and anp 2 in the fall. I did want to get some clarity though, I will be done with my pre-req's needed for the program by december. So I can take any of the other nursing classes needed before being accepted into the program. Also how long does it take entrance test results to come back
- Aug 9, '12 by nikkih901Quote from pcarter2324Hi there! Glad to hear things are going well for you. I wanted to let you know that you will not be allowed to take any actual Nursing courses until you have been accepted into the program. Since you are taking A&PII and Micro this Fall, you will be eligible to apply for the Fall 2013 term. Just make sure you have everything required before the application deadline of February 1, 2013. As far as the NLN, the results came back in about 2-3 weeks (if I remember correctly).Hey Nikki, Just wante to let you I am still hanging in there and actually did take the professor that you recommended and I loved him. - Aug 9, '12 by pcarter2324Thank you! One more question what did you use to study for the entrance exam? Also, how are you doing in the program, I pray well you have been so helpful to me during my small journey. oh one more thing before I forget the program that starts in the fall is the day time program correct? I would prefer going in the day, than at night due to me having little ones at home.
- Aug 10, '12 by nikkih901Quote from pcarter2324I used Review Guide For RN Pre-Entrance Exam. The ISBN is 978-0763762711. I think I still have that book along with the CD-ROM. I wil have to check. If so, I will be more than happy to give it to you. Make sure to keep an eye out for the exam dates also. The NLN is not offered as frequent as it should be. I think there are a couple of testing dates in September but not sure of any other dates after that. And yes....the Fall program is day time.Thank you! I am taking micro and anp2 in the fall, now i freaking out thinking about when I will have study time for this entrance exam. But, if you still have it I will inbox you my phone number.

- Aug 20, '12 by shanybHey guys, I'm new around here and came searching for some info...this is definitely the right place
I am applying in October for Spring admission into the program. I have completed Micro (got an A) and both A&Ps (got an A and a B), as well as Psych and Eng Comp 1. My overall GPA is a 3.7 and I'm taking the NLN next month. I'm REALLY hoping I have what it takes to get in this coming semester but I'm a little worried!
Here is my biggest concern. I was planning on taking out student loans so that I can quit my full time job and focus solely on Nursing school. I just found out today the SWTCC doesn't accept ANY form of student loans, federal or private. That pretty much means I will have to continue working full time. I gotta pay the bills :-/ Is it possible to work full time and maintain a good GPA?? I'm really worried. Or are y'all aware of any other types of financial aid or scholarships available? I'm 28 with a family and a mortgage; it's not like I can just move back in with the parents, you know?!
