Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program - Winter 2013

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

I just mailed off my packet to Vanderbilt today! I'm so nervous and really hoping to get an interview for this program. Adult Critical Care is my first choice. I graduated in May 2012 with my BSN from Washington State University. I thought it would be fun to start a thread for people applying for the Winter 2013 program.

Hoping to meet other people who are applying to this program.

Seriously....just want to KNOW! Hopefully today...my personal guess is sometime tomorrow or Thursday though!

Jennderveen,

I probably checked my email 20 times yesterday...:nailbiting:!!!!! Will be the same way today. I guess I am REALLY impatient. Hope we find out today.

Today has gotta be the day, right?!?! Hoping so...

Well, apparently today was the day. Wait listed for the critical care track. Any thoughts as to the number of people on this list?

When did you receive an email?

Congrats on getting on the waitlist! You're a step ahead of the rest of us, I still haven't heard anything!

javelinj279 Congrats on getting waitlisted! That is a big accomplishment and you should be very proud of yourself! You never know...a spot could open up and you'd be one of the first in line!

Has anyone else heard back yet? I have not so I'm just curious. I am really hoping to hear something tomorrow!

I haven't heard anything yet either. I applied to Women's Health. I was wondering earlier if maybe they do they in batches according to specialty? Who knows... but if we don't hear tomorrow, its going to make for a LONG weekend.

I hope that is what they are doing. I applied for the Emergency track and the girl who commented above went for critical care track it looks like so maybe they do it by specalities. I'm very nervous and just want to know. Curiousity is getting the best of me!

This is how I read the scenario: If you heard something via email today....You are waitlisted. If not, then you will probably be getting an acceptance letter within a couple of days. You will then have 7 days to accept or decline the offer. They will not tell you where you are on the waitlist.....It isn't necessarily negative to be on the waitlist; as they can place people until January if the floor is in need. It was a huge accomplishment to just get interviewed, so pat yourself on the back.

OK now I'm freaking out. I still haven't heard from Vanderbilt and I just got an offer this morning from a hospital in Florida!!! I don't know what to do, they're giving me over the weekend to think about my decision, any advice???
