- by codyp Apr 21, '06I recieved my TN. LPN license and it has mulistate license on it?
What does that mean?
- Apr 21, '06 by chazmikehi, multi state license means you can practice in multi states without getting the license for that state. You would need to look on the tn board of nursing web site to find out which states that include.

"The Nurse Licensure Compact was enacted by the Tennessee General Assembly in 2002. The following states have joined in this new mutual recognition model of multistate nursing regulation: Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin. Nurses who reside in other compact states will now have the “multistate privilege to practice” in Tennessee without having a license issued by the Tennessee Board of Nursing. The following questions and answers provide information about the Nurse Licensure Compact and how it will affect hiring nurses from other compact states (party states) that have enacted the Compact."
