TN LPN payrate?

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

I am considering moving from MA to TN to be closer to family but I'm getting paid pretty well our here so I was wondering how much might I make down in TN? I have about 6 years of experience, mostly pediatric but some nursing home, rehab & psych from when I worked agencies in NY. I understand TN has no state income tax so even if I don't make as much as I'm making here that would make a difference. I just have a lot of debt & don't want to struggle due to moving somewhere that doesn't pay enough for me to afford living there.

So if anyone can give me an estimated # of what I'd make & what kind of opportunities there are (precisely around Nashville) it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Okay, so I don't live in Nashville but I do live in Memphis & I know the entry level pay here is $16 hourly. If any place offers less than that, run because they're trying to lowball you.

However, I know that Nashville pays more than Memphis because the cost of living is slightly higher. The best way for you to get a reasonable idea about the pay of a lpn in Nashville is craigslist. Its your best source.

If you google "Nashville craigslist" & click on "jobs", then "healthcare", you will see the job listings for lpn(s) & yes, some of those job listings will state the hourly rate they are willing to pay & any benefits they offer.

This is the most accurate way to research the lpn pay & to get an idea of what to expect hourly. Make sure you compare several listings over the course of a few weeks so you can see on average what you should expect. Hope this helps!

Hey HazMatt !

I work in Nashville, TN. The pay will be around $15 - $20 hourly. The low end you're looking at Dr's offices, clinics and hospitals. The higher end is Long term care and home health. Best of luck! There is a lot of opportunities for experienced nurses in TN.
