Roane State Nursing Students?

I just joined this site in May, after I got my letter for NS. I was just wondering how many people out there are attending Roane State's Nursing Program?

my friend goes to the lmu campus in maryville. again, it is expensive because its private, but im sure that its nice. the cost per credit hour is something like $600. and its only a little over $100 for roane state.

i have a magazine called nursing perspectives and its published by the tennessee center for nursing and it has these percentages pass the NCLEX examination:

LMU

2004: 88%

2005: 87%

2006: 78%

RSCC

2004: 97%

2005: 94%

2006: 96%

so, Roane State's scores are a lot higher and seems like the better deal.

It sounds great, but i do work full-time and this is the only place (LMU) that has night classes???? Have you heard anything about South College? The last one posted is 69%. I just dont know where to get my pre-reqs

well, if you know what classes you have to take as your prereqs...like a&p or something like that, you can take them anywhere that offers those classes and then have them transferred. pellisippi has a campus in maryville and they have night classes, you could take your prereqs there and just have them transferred.

Starting fall 2008 there will be an online associates degree offered thru RODP. There is not much info on the website yet but it seems promising. Maybe a good option for you with your work schedule. Go to www.rodp.org and just keep watching the site for info.

Hello and thank you both!! I am going to Pellissippi! It has been decided. I will start with Micro Biology in Maryville and A&P I online RODP. Whew, that was stressful. I guess I will worry about the clinical portion when I pass these.

So, is there anyone else waiting for their acceptance letters from RSCC for fall 08?!?!?!

I am going crazy waiting on mine (assuming I get in). My friend called the other day and apparently they were just starting the application process. So, I'm sure that it will be May before I know anything.

Also, anyone who is going to roane state...when was your orientation? s it typically in May or later in the summer?

Hi! I am waiting for a RSCC letter as well. I sent my application in August 07...SO long ago!! I am also still waiting on letters from WSCC and Carson-Newman. I am grateful that I have already got an acceptance letter to LMU, however if I do get into RSCC, I will probably go there-just because it is so much cheaper!

I can't believet that they are just now starting the process. I did apply last year and did not get in. I got my letter the very first week of May, so, not too much longer!:nuke:

Hey guys!!! I'm going to be taking some online classes through Roane State this summer. I'm taking A&P and Prob&Stats. Then I'm taking the online CNA class through Tenn Tech Cent this fall. I will be applying for the online RN program for Fall 09.

BTW, for the person that lives in Maryville. We're neighbors!!! I live outside of the city limits in the Carpenters/Montvale area. I have every intention of working at Blount Memorial.

Hey were neighbors too! I live off Best & McGee, ? still new to the area. I applied to Roane, but LMU sent me a welcome letter, so I will be starting NS in August, I am so excited and nervous

They just started the application process because the woman who goes through them also has to do the other health science applications, and I'm pretty sure that nursing is the last to be evaluated because of the entrance exams weren't finished until March sometime.
