New to PRN nursing, any advice?

Hello,

I am about to quit my current (fabulous) job and start working PRN d/t personal reasons (primarily wanting to work PT and/or only weekends.) I've signed up w/ one agency already, but I was wondering if I should sign up with multiple ones.

Those of you who work PRN, any advice? I'll mostly be going to HCA hospitals in the Nashville area. I've heard the horror stories about how no one talks to you, you get the worst patients, etc. Is it true? If so, how do you survive and be a good nurse?

FWIW, I'll only be doing med-surg and stepdown, no CC.
