I don't know anyone that failed out entirely. If anything, people have to repeat 3rd semester. Its easily the most difficult. But its usually 2-4 people who fail it, and they usually pass when repeating it as far as I know.

I appreciate you 2 answering all my questions. If I think of anything else to ask I'll post it here - or if you have any advice that would make my nursing school experience less stressful, go ahead and let me know.

Our first semester 22 people failed Pathophysiology including me. Our third semester about 19 people failed Med-Surg 1 and about 5 of those people completely failed out of the program.

Wow!!!! Maybe its gotten easier? Holy crap. No one failed Patho our semester and I don't think anyone did the semester before us because I don't remember getting any new people. We lost 2 with MedSurg and I think the semester above use lost 4-5. Wow! 22 and 19. I can't believe it.

Oh and to make it less stressful. IN MY OPINION... you have to realize that you can't do it all. Maybe some people do, but I sure as heck didn't. If you try to read every chapter and take every practice quiz and make As on every test, you are going to be so stressed and have so little time to yourself that you'll lose it. I thought I had to have all As because I was used to that before nursing school. I had to realize that in a nurse program, a B is pretty freakin good too! You may have heard people say C=RN. Remember that! It will help you keep your sanity. Take it one week at a time, start studying early, focus on the big picture rather than 1000 little details. Its doable, but its not easy :) I started with a 4 month old [Now 22 months] and a husband who works 2nd shift so I was practically a single mom. If I can do it, you can too! :))

The woman who taught us patho quit in the middle of the semester about 2 years ago. The teacher you guys have now is totally awesome and I love her... if its still her. Med surg teachers have changed as well. Im sry it was 14 who failed in 3rd semester not 19. Still an epic number. My 1st semester class went from 65 to 39 by 2nd semester. The class I was in after went from close to 90 to 70 something I believe after 3rd semester.

I agree with the C=Rn. I didn't have children but I worked Full time 12hr day shifts throughout the entire program and still made it through. I finished with a 3.0 overall and I was freakin exstatic about that lol

I think I remember somebody telling me about a teacher having a breakdown and quitting during the semester. You guys must've been really hard on her lol. Thankfully I already got patho out of the way...teacher was awesome~!!! The secretary told me I would have a less stressful semester with it out of the way. Hopefully, I'll be able to still work full-time and save some money.

The secretary was right!!! The only difficuly class, not really difficult but time consuming, is Health Assessment. Also make sure to take your elective this first semester. Working can be a good thing but you wont have a life outside of school and work. But its worth it in the end. Just dont give up and if you feel overwhelmed its perfectly normal. Esp. during 3rd semester clinicals, smh.

I was gonna go ahead and take Issues and Trends (it sounds the easiest of all the electives) this summer by itself. If there is an easier elective - lemme know!

Nursing's Image in the Media is very very easy if its still offered. Just discussion posts mostly. Forensics is the hardest, but the people who took it enjoyed it. Dr Wilson is an AMAZING instructor.

I took Forensics... I imagine it was set up like a graduate level course. But I got an 89 :( so close to an A lol. I enjoyed Dr.Wilsons lectures during the couple times we did have class, it was a hybrid course.
