Specializes in wound care, hyperbaric nursing.

Hello all,

I had to resign from my previous position due to being asked to do things that were against the nurse practice act. Long story short I have been looking for another job without much sucess. I have talked with a recruiter at JCMC but they pay $3 less on the hour than I was making previously and their benefits are more expensive. My background is in wound care and hyperbaric nursing. Does anyone know of any places that are hiring RNs?

Thanks!

Have you checked the VA in Johnson City to see if they are hiring? I know they have a wound care clinic. Also, home health might be an option with your wound care background. I am sure you would be a great asset to a home health agency as there are tons of patients at home requiring wound care. I did home health up until about 6 months ago and was making really good money. These are just a couple of ideas that I had. Good luck.

I have checked with the VA and they do not have any openings in their wound care clinic. I have also submitted my resume to multiple home health agencies but haven't had any luck their either. There just doesn't seem to be anyone hiring or at least no one interested in hiring me. Thanks for the info!

Did you apply at Gentiva? They called a friend of mine about 2 weeks ago offering her a job for the Elizabethton area. She had to turn it down because she had already accepted another job at MSHA. I dont think it's anything with you. Employers are just trying to get by with minimal staff right now. Something will come along that you feel good about.

I did apply at Gentiva about 2 weeks ago but never heard anything. I appreciate your words of encouragement. I think I am just getting frustrated because even though I know I did the right thing by resigning rather than risking my license it still seems like the deck is stacked against me.
