Cumberland University-Fall 2011

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

I just received my acceptance letter Saturday for Cumberland University's BSN program, I will be attending the traditional day classes at the Lebanon campus. I am super nervous about the "unknown," but more excited than anything. Are there any other CU fall nursing students on this forum, or any graduates of the program who can offer any inside information? Thanks!

@MommaLinds- Well I guess I will not be doing that. I probably would not get an endowed scholarship anyways. No I have not been to meet with financial aid. Maybe I should try to do that this week. I was supposed to start in the spring 2012 so I have not been worried about going and working on any of that. I should be able to get the transfer scholarship. I live in Gallatin so I am still close. I for see a trip to Lebanon wed or thurs.

@CUbsnHopeful- I think they have a waiting list too. You should get a letter either way. If you could do the day program as well I would call and see if you were accepted and try to get into that one. It cannot hurt to try to call and ask someone. I can usually get through to Pace Pope, but then she transfers me to people that never call back. I might even try to call the dean (Carole Ann Bach) and see if she could find out anything for you.

@starla2112 Ok. I will try both of them tomorrow and let you know what happens.

Please do. It would be great to have someone else in the program that we are familiar with!!! Good Luck!!!

Thank you! Yes, it would be great especially to have a study group already formed too.

Hi. I talked to Pace Pope and she said the letters were sent out this week and I would get a letter even if I was not accepted. I guess I'm playing the waiting game, now! Did either of you have to sign for your letter(certified mail) or did you just get it out of you mailbox?

I am glad you got to talk with someone!!! I did not have to sign for mine. It was in the mailbox when I got home Saturday night. I am so excited for you! Keep us posted:)

Ahhh @Starla, are you stressed out? I must have missed the post in which you said you weren't planning to attend until Spring! You poor thing, I hope you aren't too stressed. I hope financial aid can help you out, I have been emailing/calling them for 3 days with NO response! I may just go to the school tomorrow and try to talk to someone, too. I know they did tell me that you can apply for the endowed scholarships every semester, and they put out a list of 50+ in the fall, I am not sure how long the list is in the spring, but I'm going to apply for every penny I can! I did my pre-reqs at Nashville State, I almost fell out of my chair when I found out what CU's tuition was. :(

I am a little stressed. I tried to call again today and was told they would call me back today. We will see how that goes. The lady I talked to said she did not think it would be a problem, but I want to know for sure. I start my A&P II July 5th so the rest of my summer should be fun. That micro is the only thing I have left for my associates. I just do not want to get to CU early and them tell me I have to take like 3 other classes. I too am going to try to get all the money I can. It is a rather expensive school, but not like some others. Happy early birthday by the way!!!

@MommaLinds- Well I hope you had better luck today at CU than I did. I was told Christina Harness would call me back. I have been waiting for her to call me back since Monday!!! I did talk to Finical Aid a little and they were kinda helpful. Good luck if you have not been up there yet.

The ONLY way I could get through to Christina was to email her, she responded within the hour, after 2 months of leaving phone messages. Apparently she is SWAMPED! I finally called admissions yesterday and explained that I had called financial aid 10+ times with no answer or response, and she put me through to Megan in the fa office, she called me back a few hours later and helped me out! Try emailing Christina!

I have tried to do that as well. I usually get a response from Kim Stevens pretty fast, but not this time. I will try again and see what happens. The guy I talked to today was really nice in financial a id. I am glad everything worked out for you yesterday. :)

Oh my gosh, I love that guy! He's always been super helpful in person lol. I hope she gets back to you soon, it's so frustrating in the meantime! Have you started on your list of things we have to submit yet? My insurance won't cover the titer draws, I called 13 clinics Monday, and Shots, Etc. in Bellevue was the cheapest at $240, just in case that helps. I'm taking my CPR class the morning of the 11th, I'm gonna be broke before we even register! :(
