Baptist College of Health Science- Spring 2013

U.S.A. Tennessee

Hello! I'm starting my nursing classes in Spring 2013! I'm looking for any students that are starting so we can talk about classes, professors and study groups and study tips!

@unionnurse12, im with you lady this waitlist crap sucks. I have not given off all hope yet, maybe one of us will get lucky and here something tomorrow!

I'm thinking about trying my luck with SWTCC…..as long as I can score between 100 and 130 I'll have a score of between 57 and 60…which from what I can tell is pretty good

Yeah, they are next on my list to try as well. I was trying to steer away from the 2 year programs because they only offer an associates degree, And now a day's i hear so much about the hospital's making the nurses go back to get their bachelor's. So i thought baptist would be a good place to go but at this point beggers cant be choosey I will go anywhere that takes me. I will also be looking into dyersburg state's program and the uofm.

Lowest GPA UofM normally admits is a 3.3/3.2…with a class size of 100.

When I click on the applicant sign in link it's sending me to their Access program and not the application program.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I just checked my message and it still says the same thing, hopefully we will no something by the end of the day. I talked to CC yesterday and he said I was still waitlisted and he didnt know if we would know first thing this am or this evening the final decision.

And once again I didn't get in! I'm really getting sick and tired of busting my butt in school and having ZERO to show for it!!! I've spent the last 5 semesters in a row on the dean's list yet my grades just aren't good enough for them….I give up!!! I really don't want to apply for the Fall because then you have to compete against all the kids coming out of HS….which I do not really agree with because high school and college are on two different levels academically. A college GPA of 3.0 is a lot different from a HS GPA of 3.0. I don't see how I can get my GPA up to a 3.2

Hello everyone I am a transfer student who just got accepted at Baptist. I will be starting in Spring 2014. I have orientation on December 7th. Anyone else going? Also, do anyone know about the early progression and how that works with a transfer student? I have to take like 7 classes because they said I needed 12 hours at Baptist before I could start my clinicals which sucks :(. How long does it usually takes to start clinicals for transfer students?

Hello, how long did it take for you to start your clinicals after you started? Did you have any gen eds to finish if so how many and what was your GPA?

Omg sorry everybody I been sooo busy at school ugh!

I never got around to even going to admissions to ask questions for y'all sorry.

Anyways, I applied for spring 12, my clinical date started fall '13 I was like what! Heck no lol, I had only 5 classes I needed b4 nursing courses so spring 12 I took 2 classes, kept in touch with my advisor to try to get bumped us (yup I bugged her every month) sat out summer, begging of fall I got bumped up to summer '13 (still wasn't good enough, kept bugging and praying) by the end of that trimester I got moved to spring '13, with all my classmates they told me Baptist asked them at least once if they wanted to get moved up 1 extra trimester.

Started clinicals spring '13, it's 5 continuous trimesters (if you take health assessment early which you just have to finish patho early) I finish dec '14 ( if all goes as planned)

First you take health assessment then basic of nursing with essentials of nursing

Then adult 1 with pharm

Adult 2 with research, I'm finishing adult 2 now dec 13th is my last day!

Next its community and psych both half trimester classes along with adult aging a full trimester course

Then peds and ob half trimester and something else lol I haven't got that far, trying to take it 1 trimester at a time!

Hi, @PrincessFutureRN lol

How was Adult I? Was it hard? I am a student now at Baptist and got through Health Assessment (which I hated). I signed up for Basics, Essentials, and decided to move Pharmacology up so I can take it with these two classes and so I can focus on Adult I by itself in the summe. Do you feel that I am making things too hard for myself even though people say Basics is hard? And also do you have any tips that are helpful to passing Adult I (Im nervous)!!:dead:
