Hi, first of all.... Congrats! I am not a student at Baptist (yet) but am trying to gather some info about the school. I have heard they offer evening and weekend classes? I have also heard there are no entrance tests required? Since you were just accepted, I wanted to verify if this is indeed the case? How competetive is it to get in? I am interested in nights and weekends because I have to work and support my family. I currently have a 3.04 Cummalitive GPA with 96 credit hours taken. However, this does not take into account this past semester's grade which should improve my GPA slightly because it was an "A". What is the minimum GPA at Baptist? Do they require A&P I, II to be completed before entering the program. I look forward to hearing back from you, even after you start, just to hear about your experience with the courses and instructors. Thanks...

    Hello!

I started at baptist Spring 2012 so I've been here a year, yes there is a nights and weekends RN program that is still active. Currently there is no entrance exam, they ended it I believe Spring 2012 because I had to take the HOBET exam in Fall 2011. The current GPA is 2.7, so you should be fine, also the 92 credits will help but they only accept the specific courses you need for the program so only like 40ish will transfer, I have a 2nd degree in Biology and only about 40-44 transfered I cant remember. They do not require A&P I, II or Micro to get accepted.

They are currently changing there admission process, I found out in a school email sent out. Beginning Fall 2013 you no longer get accepted into the school and program at the SAME time. Baptist is moving over to admission like most schools, you get accepted into the school then apply to the program the semester before clinicals, they said there are too many complaints about the waiting of clinicals. My original clinical date was Fall 2013, then got moved to Spring 2013 then I request for another move up and got into the Spring 2013, its typical to be there a year and half at least to two years, before you start clinicals and for most transfer students thats a long time.

I will keep updates because the other Baptist thread is 2 years old with no updates!

Hi, thanks for the reply and the information you provided. I have been trying to find out as much as I can about both Baptist and Southwest since they seem to be the only colleges that offer nights and weekends. Do you happen to know the evening/weekend schedule? How do you rate your classes and intstructor to this point? Sorry for so many questions

UTHSC is one of my clients at the place that I work now and I spoke to my contact over there today and she told me they are bringing their BSN back this Spring. I didn't have time to go into detail with her about it but you may want to call them to get more info. That was my school of choice but as soon as I was ready for Nursing school they pulled their BSN program.

Sorry so late. I rate my classes and instructors a 5 out of 5, everybody has been very helpful and devoted to you passing your classes. As far as the schedule it looks like most classes start at 6p and end at 9ish with Saturdays being about 12hrs 6-6 or 7-7 plus or minus an hour or two, with breaks inbetween, so far I haven't met anyone in the nights and weekends but I'll keep you up dated next semester. Any other questions just ask!!!

I was looking on the Baptist Web Site for an answer but did not see it listed; is there a minimum ACT score requirement? Thanks.

From my understanding if you have over 31hrs then they dnt factor the ACT, I didn't send mine in with my application.

Thanks again for the information. It sounds like I should have everything I need already in place to qualify for entry into the school
