Very Sweet Dog needs new home- Tennessee/Kentucky

We have a half Rodesian Ridgeback half ? red spayed female dog. Her name is Rosie. She is very sweet. Totally housetrained, prefers to stay outside 99% of the time. Great family dog, loves to play, great with kids.

My daughter took Rosie in as a puppy when the owners were just dumping them by the side of the road. Now that she is married and can't keep Rosie in her apartment Rosie has been living with us. She is truely a lovely dog. The problem is that our 6 Italian Greyhounds are making her miserable. Whenever we let them out they attack her. We have spent a small fortune puttng bark collars on the Greyhounds but that has not helped. This is something that has just started over the past couple of months. Now neighbors are reporting us to the police because of the loud dog fights. They have told us we have to keep it quiet. We are now having to keep Rosie locked in the garage. I feel so bad for her. She cries. I don't know what to do. I can't have her put to sleep. I don't want to take her to a shelter, she'd be miserable. If I could find her a home where she could play with kids, be a good guard dog, or sleep inside at night, she would be happy.

Anybody interested in a loving sweet natured dog needing a good home?
Do you know anybody who may be interested? We would be glad to deliver her to you.

Rosie is fine she's been checked by the vet. It's a jealously issue. She's in the garage and they go to the doggie door and bark and choax her out then stand there and bark and bark and then lunge at her. They don't actually bite her because they know she's 35 lbs to their 12 lbs. When Rosie's on the back porch she won't let them on the porch to be able to get into their doggie door. They are all so frustrating!!!

Dutch, I just bought a great old house in Hendersonville half a block from the lake. It's a split level that came with a fenced in backyard, acre and a half. I am setting up the downstairs for critters and also have a sweetheart named Rosie (spaniel mix with no teeth) but she is more indoors. I'm more than happy to try with your dog, she would have safe enclosed area to roam and we want out fur babies to be able to be indoors as well. It's a great area.

We haven't moved in yet but I am willing to try. Let me know. Laurie

PS, our vet is Brandon Dixon with Volunteer Vet on New Shackle Island if you want to check him out, he is great. I'll be at the house tomorrow if you want to get in touch, PM me. I'll be checking my messages before I leave for the house. I live downtown Nashville right now (hence the late hour, noisy noisy, noisy)

Maybe this is premature (or maybe it's my special time of the month), but as a dog-lover, this just about one of the most touching threads I've come across on this board!

Bless your heart, Haunted! I really hope everything works out!

I am sooooo happy. Haunted (Laurie) lives very close to me and is a allnurses colleague. Could it be any better?! I have PM'd her with my cell and address. I think this will be perfect for both my Rosie and her Rosie. Wow! Laurie is an answer to my prayers. I'll let everyone know.

THANK YOU LAURIE !!!

Laurie (Haunted) and I met. Her new home is going to be really nice and the yard is awesome. It is 1 1/2 acres all fenced in. Well.....it was fenced in until Jose went through it with the John Deere. It's not funny but it was only because the lawn mower is fine, no worse for the accident and the fence easily fixed. Oh lordy, we saw it happen!! Jose is a nice guy, great with power tools!! (Just kidding Jose!) I haven't taken Rosie over yet. That's planned for next weekend. I just happened to be in the area yesterday and stopped in. We had a very nice chat!
