I applied for the critical care track as well! I'm looking forward to the interview!! Does anyone know if they do and over the phone interview for out of state students or if we need to fly there? I'd much rather have an interview face to face!

What area of critical care nursing are you interested in?

Have you worked in the ICU before?

I did the Summer III program at Mayo Clinic this summer and I feel that this Residency will be similar...I had a blast and met an awful lot of amazing nursing students!

I have also applied to Vandy's program. I live in Houston. I just did my best on the intent and added a few life experience events etc. My first choice was also critical care. I recieved an email stating that they have recieved my package completed but that is it. I hope to hear from them soon....I bet there were a lot of applicants. I take boards next tuesday!!!! I did the Pediatric Nurse Residency @ Vanderbilt Children's in 2005. It was very competative. There were over 150 applicants, they took 50 something I think. I don't know how competative the adult hospital's program is because children's was the only program Vandy had back then.
I wrote my letter of intent and had one of my instructors critique it for me. I worked as a tech for Children's when I was applying, so I incorporated the hospital's mission statement values in my letter.
As far as how long it took to hear from them, I can't remember, since it's been a few years.

Hello! I too applied for the residency program. They emailed me to schedule an interview. I'm really nervous. Does anyone know how the interview process is? I have the NCLEX taken care of. What are they looking for? I really wanna get the job.
