TSU Nursing Program Accreditation Denied ?

Greetings. I am a pre-nursing student in middle TN. While speaking with a close friend in the medical field, I was told that TSU recently lost its accreditation for their nursing program(s). Has anyone else heard likewise or can confirm? Thank you and have a bless day.

I have heard that rumor too. I have a friend in my care group at church that is a nurse at Centennial, and she heard a rumor that they were on the verge of losing it. Now, this rumor has been going on for a long time, so it may not be true. I would just call the school and find out or call the TN Nursing Board. If you do, let me know what they say. I plan on applying there thru Vol State, but I do not have a feeling I will get in there. Just because of the applicant pool at Vol State.

Wow!! This is surprising as they have one of the best pass rates for NCLEX in the Middle TN area.

I just called the NLNAC at their toll-free number (1-800-669-1656), provided through the TSU school of Nursing's website: http://www.tnstate.edu/interior.asp?mid=289&ptid=1

The ADN program is accredited through 2011
The BSN program is accredited through 2015
The MSN program is accredited through 2015

As I recall, NLN accreditation is necessary in order to take your boards & apply for a license. Sounds like someone is floating around nasty rumors about my alma mater. It's not the first time and probably won't be the last, from what I've seen.

Verification took less than 10 minutes out of my day...websearch & telephoning combined. It's worth it.
