Tennessee Technology Center Surgical Tech

I have not gone through the program. However, when I was going through LPN at TN Tech, we socialized quite a bit with the Surg Tech class, and it was apparently just as grueling as our program (40 hours a week for a year with three 1-week breaks between quarters). Clinical hour requirements were similar, and their coursework was just as difficult.

If your heart is set on working in surgery, go for it. If you're not dead set on surgery and are weighing between Surg Tech vs LPN, I'd say go LPN. Neither is going to be easy, but both are very doable even with family, as long as you have a good support system.
