Re: South College
Well, I know for sure that LMU, and Roane State have Knoxville campuses. However, ETSU, and Walter State are located outside of Knoxville. So if you are trying to stay in the Knoxville area, your options would be UT, LMU, South College an Roane State. I actually have my Bachelors too and severaly of my friends went back for nursing and decided to go get their Bachelors in Nursing. However, here's the catch. The only reason why they went for the Bachelors is because the program that they applied for was an accelerated 2nd degree program. That's the path that I wanted to take but all the accelerated programs that I looked into are were very competitive and I was placed on like 3 waiting lists which sucked

. I applied to like 3 different associate degree programs and got into all three. Go figure huh? lol. But anyway, as far as determining whether to get the Bachelors or Associates in nursing, that's kinda up to the individual and how soon you are trying to enter the workforce of nursing. The associates is by far quicker than the regular bachelors degree program. But, the accelerated bachelors degree program can be by far the quickest of all. I've seen some accelerated programs that last as short as 1 year! They were very intense from what I heard. When it all comes down to it, whether you decided to obtain the bachelors or associates degree, they both lead to the same job title: RN. The only difference is that with the bachelors degree you can go into management rather than doing what is referred to as "floor nursing" (working in hospitals, clinics, doctors offices etc.). There is a slight difference in pay as well BUT the difference in pay is not even noticeable. All the nurses I know have absolutely NO PROBLEM at all with their salary. I hope I didn't blab my mouth too much lol.
